Boys.....grrrrrrr!!!!

Grrrrr.......after a long day of cleaning yesterday....what happens.....Tim catches a huge bass when he went fishing tonight. It's about 22 inches long. He decides it's okay to scale and clean the fish on my counter.

He starts scaling on the counter and then has the idea to move his area to the porch. So now I have scales all over the kitchen as well as all over the porch. He has been working on the fish for about half an hour so far.

He has completely scaled and gutted it..only to find out that the fish is a female and has eggs all inside of her. He is now attempting to fillet it. I have to say that it doesn't really look like any fish that I would eat at the moment.

I really hope that he doesn't think he is going to be cleaning all the blood and guts off in my sink. He's got another thing coming to him.

I have scales tracked all over the floor from people walking in and out of the house. He says that he will clean up the entire mess and disinfect it all. We will see....

My Busy Busy Weekend

This weekend seemed to just fly by. It started out just like any other weekend and then just took off. We woke up on Saturday morning and then Tim had to be at the SPCA for work. He volunteered for a few hours with some people at his work. After he was done, we walked around and looked at all of the animals. I got backed into a corner because both Tim and Justin want a cat, but of course I won when I put my foot down. I refuse to have a cat.

From there, we dropped Justin off at my parents house while we went to the memorial service of Tim's friend who passed away earlier this week from a massive heart attack at only 28. It was tough.

When we came home, we ate dinner and watched Despicable Me. That was such a funny movie. We all loved it.

Today was a day of cleaning beyond belief. We cleaned up the entire living room, dining room, and kitchen. I also did some laundry. Then we all took a break and went to Walmart and Target.

When we came home, I scrubbed the entire floor on my hands and knees. Boy did it need a good cleaning. All I can say is that I sure am going to be sore tomorrow.

And now, I am just relaxing on the couch waiting to hear from my wedding photographer. She is supposed to stop by tonight to deliver all of my pictures from the wedding. I am so excited I can't wait. It's hard to believe that it's been 2 1/2 months since we got married.

I'm hoping that it will be an early night so I can get some good rest tonight.

The Buzz of Reality TV

Everyday there is some person just sitting around thinking of what new and different reality show they can come up with. I don't understand what the fascination is with all of these shows. I guess it's because people feel the need to lose themselves in the shows to escape from their own lives. With the economy as hard pressed as it is, I guess other peoples' fame and misfortune are more appealing.

Now don't get me wrong, I have a select group of shows that I find amusing. I have my DVR set to record shows 4 nights out of the week. It does allow an outlet from my own normal everyday grind. What is it about these shows that are so addicting and enticing? You watch a show once, and you're hooked. It never ends....

Life

Life is such a beautiful and precious thing. You never know how long each one of us has.

Two days ago, I received the news that a good friend of Tim's passed away. He left behind a wife and four kids. He was only 28. This came to be quite a shock to us. Tim had just been talking to him a few days prior and all was fine. How someone so young could be taken so easily is proof of just how precious life is.

This is my purpose.....to convey to all to live your life to the fullest. Life is so priceless. Never take any of it for granted. You never know when your life will be halted, so always make sure that  everyone knows that you love them. Never leave anything unsaid. Strive to make all your dreams come true and never settle for second best. Life can throw you curve balls, but don't be afraid to throw them right back. If you get knocked down, stand back up again. Be true to yourself and never change.

Always remember that life is what you make of it and to live each day as if it were your last. "Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away."

Moving Doctors

I wish that doctors would just stay where they are at. The doctor that I went to when I was little is the doctor that Justin goes to now. He's been going there for the past couple of years. When I was little, he had his own practice, but over the past maybe 8 years or so he has been in practice with other people.

Imagine my surprise when I went to make the appointment for Justin's yearly visit and they tell me that the doctor is no longer there and hasn't been there since about June.  Of course when I ask where he went, they tell me that they don't know. So then the hunt was on....

I went to school with the doctor's daughter so my next step was to turn to Facebook. I searched for her and then found him....his page said where his current location was. I was sooo relieved that I found him. He really is an awesome doctor.

I called the office to make an appointment with his new location and they proceed to tell me that he will actually be leaving at the end of this month...grrrrrr. They told me that they did not know where he was going, but if I called in a few days or so they might know and would tell me. I sure hope so. Justin hates to go to the doctor, but he likes this one. I hope that I can use my private eye skills to track him down.

Blizzards and Donuts

So tonight we embarked on quite a baking adventure. Justin got a Blizzard maker for Christmas so he finally talked us into making them. Let me tell you that was an adventure. First the mixture spilled all over the counter because the valve was not shut all the way....
After we got that cleaned up and poured the mixture into the mixing cavity the handle broke. I don't know if it was just poor craftsmanship or what. The only way we could finish what we started was to turn the little tiny piece very carefully in our own hand instead of using the little crank handle.

After the Blizzards were done, I ventured into making donuts with my donut maker that I got for Christmas. This adventure was quite fun. It is my new favorite toy. I say donuts every morning. These are my yummy donuts that I made. I decided to go with green icing. I don't know why, but I just felt like they should be green. Maybe it was because I was looking at the Oriental Trading Catalog earlier and they had a bunch of St. Patty's Day stuff. I had to leave some of them plain for Tim. He didn't want all of the icing. I can't wait to make more donuts and try out some of the flavored donuts.

Cupcakes....and then some.

Baking is soooo much fun! I just finished baking cupcakes and icing them for Justin's birthday. He's going to take them into school for his classroom to celebrate his birthday. I must say that they turned out so amazingly awesome. He wanted blue and yellow cupcakes to take to school tomorrow. His birthday was actually last week but since school was still out for the holidays, he couldn't bring them in. The best part of making the chocolate cupcakes that he wanted is definitely the licking the bowl part. Chocolate cake batter is one of my weaknesses along with brownie batter. Baking is definitely one thing that I have completely mastered. If it's sweet...I can make it!

I'm still learning with the whole cooking thing. Now I must say....I have come a long way in the cooking department. There have been a few recipes that Tim has fallen in love with. Apparently, I make awesome homemade chili. It is rather tasty if I do say so myself. Among some of my other favorites are corned beef and tomatoes over rice, glazed pork chops, and spaghetti. I have so many recipes that I haven't even tried yet.

Video Games

What is the big thing about video games? I find myself in a world-wind battle against the PS3 on a daily basis. Tim is addicted to playing his Call of Duty: Black Ops game. Of course, it is my fault that I got it for him for Christmas, but this is crazy. I actually dreamed people were trying to kill me because I fell asleep on the couch while he was playing the game. I guess because I was hearing the shots fired subconsciously I thought it was happening to me. Boy was I in for a surprise. I woke up running for my life.

What's even worse is that now Justin is hooked on the PS3. He constantly asks to play. We download the original Ninja Turtles game and ever since then he's addicted. He thinks it's really cool to play video games with daddy. He actually thinks that he is the best video game player and that he could beat anyone. It's even gotten to where he would rather play the Turtles than watch TV. I never thought that anything would come before TV. What am I going to do....I'm stuck in a house of boys. I'm out numbered. I need a little girl.....hopefully one day.

A New Classroom

So I was offered to start a Jr Toddler classroom this month. It was originally going to be 2 days a week on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 12. My co-worker and I have been working hard to transform the classroom from a youth room to a toddler room. We had open house on Wednesday and got to meet all of the parents and kids. We have a total of 6 kids....ALL BOYS.....and 2 of them are named Brody.

Today, my supervisor came to me to ask if I would take on the classroom as the Lead teacher. YEA!!!! I'm so excited that I get a raise. All of the parents also asked if the class could be three days instead of two.....sooooo we are now a 3day Jr Toddler class. The class starts next Wednesday.

I'm soo excited. All the little guys are so cute. I can't wait.

My First Time!

Everyone has a first time. This is mine. I decided to start this blog for a number of reasons. One I love to write and of course there's the obvious....I just get too bored watching my husband play Call of Duty Black Ops. So here is a synopsis:

This is my love, my life, my friend. After being together through thick and thin for 8 years we finally got married on November 13, 2010. We first met at 8 Seconds, a country club downtown back in 2003. We went to Gatlinburg, TN on our honeymoon. That was one of the best times in my life. It was so gorgeous that time of year. All of the leaves were already changing and the mountains were exquisite.

Our
Honeymoon

We had lots of fun times over the years. Including that of starting a family with our beautiful and smart son, Justin. He is such an amazing little boy. He enjoys life so much. You never know what he will do or say next.

These are pictures from his preschool graduation. We are so proud of our little man. He loves Kindergarten and loves to do homework. Usually he only gets homework once a week, but we always have to make up some sort of task for him to do. He loves to write and draw.

Our family has come a long way since 2003 and I can't wait for the exciting road ahead. One of the biggest challenges is going to be finding a new job. I finished school in 2009 for Medical Assisting. I decided to stay at the daycare that I work at now until our little man finished going there. I received a 50% discount on his childcare for working there. So now he has spread his wings into Kindergarten and it's time for me to do the same. I am currently a Certified Medical Assistant out to save the world...well maybe not the world, but I sure will try....
